December Pinspiration Day 4

Hello!

Back today to share our final canvass craft which we completed on Friday.  This one was definitely my favourite as it was the easiest to do with Baby A, who is only 6 months old.  All he had to do was sit in his high chair and stare at mommy with a look that said 'what the heck are you doing' while I painted his little feet up and added his footprints to the canvass.  hehe

You can have a peek at the ORIGINAL PIN, and will see that all I have changed with this one is to add a verse at the bottom from 'Twas The Night Before Christmas.  I love the addition of these verses as it just makes the canvass more complete to me for some reason.

Now all three canvasses hang on a wall between our patio door and a large window...love it!  Now to find some non-holiday themed ideas for when Christmas is over!  I love having Baby A's art up on the wall!!

You can read 'Twas The Night Before Christmas HERE if you don't have a copy at home!  :)
Hope you enjoyed!

December Pinspiration Day 3

Hello!

Back with another Kids Craft Pinspiration today!  I am working on a set of three of these prints, but thought it best to spread them out over a few days so poor Baby A doesn't think I've gone finger painting crazy...haha.

See the ORIGINAL PIN for this print idea.  I didn't change much for this one, simply added a verse from "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas' below the hand print tree. This is one of my absolute FAVOURITE Christmas Carols!!

Here is what we ended up with.  To be perfectly honest, I LOVE how this turned out, but Baby A was definitely too young for this one. I really didn't think in advance about how he would have to 'know' to open up his hand to put his hand print on the page ... hahaha.  If someone had been here to watch me attempt this with him they would have had a good laugh for sure.  Oh well.  We ended up with a super cute print in the end, even if it did take much longer than I expected, and resulted in a lot of drool and green paint in fun places.

Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas
(HERE)

Have yourself a merry little Christmas
Let your heart be light
From now on our troubles will be out of sight

Have yourself a merry little Christmas
Make the Yuletide gay
From now on our troubles will be miles away

Here we are as in olden days
Happy golden days of Yore
Faithful friends who are dear to us
Gather near to us once more

Through the years we all will be together
If the fates allow
Hang a shining star upon the highest bough
And have yourself a merry little Christmas now

Through the years we all will be together
If the fates allow
Hang a shining star upon the highest bough
And have yourself a merry little Christmas now

Hope you enjoyed visiting today!

December Daily - Cover Page

Hello!

Today I am sharing my December Daily cover page.  After reading a blog post by Michelle Wooderson where she discusses her approach to her December Daily, I have decided to follow her lead.  She is combining her December Daily right along with her Project Life, which I think is genius!  This will be the first year I attempt a December Daily, and while I was so very excited by the project, I was also a little bit wary of adding yet another project on top of my Project Life, when I already have a bit of catching up to do with that as it is.  Michelle's idea of combining the two just seemed like a brilliant idea to me, and made finishing both tasks seem absolutely achievable!  Today I will share my cover, and then as I go along I will share my December pages, most likely in a full weeks format.  You can check out Michelle's blog above, or the specific post I mentioned here.

I kept my cover very simple.  I was inspired by Kelly Purkey's Project Life 2012 cover (here), and took a similar approach, while omitting the large focus picture and replacing with gold paper.  I really like how it turned out - simple and to the point.

I must say, even though this is minimal in the scrapbooking department, it felt GOOD to actually do some scrapbooking again!  I miss it.  I will have to break out my supplies and get some baby pages done soon!
Hope you enjoy!

December Pinspiration Day 2

Hello!

Back with another Pinterest inspired project today.  I tried my hand at some sewing for this project...yikes.  Surprisingly, I absolutely LOVE how this turned out.

See the ORIGINAL PIN for my inspiration.

And here is what I put together.

Up Close

Resting On It's New Home, Our Comfy Armchair

I pinned, then sewed the trees onto the fabric first, then stitched up the sides to make an envelope pillowcase.  The pillowcase seals with velcro.  It was actually really simple to put together, however this one pillowcase still took me about 2 hours to complete...not the most efficient the first time round.  I planned originally to make four pillowcases, so I have my work cut out for me.  If the next one takes the same amount of time, I MIGHT just leave it at two pillowcases for now... hehe.

Hope you enjoy!

December Pinspiration Day 1

I must admit, while I have been lacking in crafty motivation, I have been devouring ideas on Pinterest for when that motivation did come back!  Christmas started approaching, and the ideas started flowing. I have a few crafty projects in mind for the next few weeks with both Baby A, and myself.  In addition, I am working on a December Daily for the first time this year.  Hope some of you are inspired by my projects, and feel free to share your ideas with me!  I am loving the idea of doing little crafts with Baby A while I am still home with him!

Our first few projects are some prints on canvass, based on a few I found on Pinterest.  We made our first one today.  Here is the Original Pin that our project was based on.  Be sure to check it out!

And this is what our first print looks like.  I added a verse from 'O Christmas Tree' at the bottom of our handiwork.  I so love how it turned out!

O Christmas Tree
(HERE)

O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree!
How are thy leaves so verdant!
O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree,
How are thy leaves so verdant!
Not only in the summertime,
But even in winter is thy prime.
O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree,
How are thy leaves so verdant!

O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree,
Much pleasure doth thou bring me!
O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree,
Much pleasure doth thou bring me!
For every year the Christmas tree,
Brings to us all both joy and glee.
O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree,
Much pleasure doth thou bring me!

O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree,
Thy candles shine out brightly!
O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree,
Thy candles shine out brightly!
Each bough doth hold its tiny light,
That makes each toy to sparkle bright.
O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree,
Thy candles shine out brightly!

Hope you enjoy!

National Scrapbooking Day - A Layout

Hello!

I SCRAPBOOKED!!   hahaha
FINALLY!
I couldn't let National Scrapbooking Day go by without a little scrappy effort from me.  So here is a layout I have been meaning to get to for well over a year now - fun family trip to Medieval Times!  I used a Becky Fleck Sketch posted on the Scrapbook and Cards Today Blog as one of their challenges for today, and let me just ask, WHY DON'T I ALWAYS USE A SKETCH?!?!  This took a lot of the 'thinking' effort out of my scraping, which I really enjoyed.  The layout came together so quickly!  Hope you enjoy!

Papers: Black Cardstock (Bazzil), Old School Collection (pinkpaislee), Oliver Collection, Basics Collection (Basic Grey)
Punch: EK Success
Letter Stickers: Cream & Red Mini Market (October Afternoon), Eric Foam Thickers (American Crafts)

Project Life Catch-Up - Week 6 - Week 9

Hello!

After leaving my camera behind on a family trip back home, I have been playing Project Life Catch-Up (not fun).  I am all caught up to week 10, however just have to finish making a label for the title card for the last week on my Cricut and it will be set to go!  YAY!  Here are some pictures of Weeks 6, 7, 8, and 9.  They are NOT GREAT, as my camera is still back home and my iPhone was not playing nice with focusing.  However, it is what it is!  Hope you enjoy!

Week 6
I added an insert (12x12) in order to include some extra pictures from my husband's trip out west to visit family.

Layout - My Favourite Place

Hello!

I wanted to share a layout I completed a few days ago.  I am participating in Shimelle Laine's 'A Hitchhiker's Guide to Scrapbooking' class at Two Peas in a Bucket (so fun!).  Our first challenge was to put together a pile of supplies (starting with paper) with which to make a layout.  Take a picture of the supplies, and then take a picture of the final product!  I liked this because it took a lot of the thinking out of the actual putting together of the project.  Here is what I came up with.  Hope you enjoy!
