Thank You Card

Hello!

Just a quick card today.  I was in a colouring mood a few weeks ago and coloured up this gorgeous daffodil from Papertrey Ink's Year of Flowers collection.  I thought it would be perfect as the main focus of a card!!

Cardstock: Kraft, Stampers Select White (Papertrey Ink), Crushed Curry (Stampin' Up!)
Stamps: Year of Flowers: Daffodil, Think Big Favorites #2 (Papertrey Ink)
Black Embossing Powder, VersaMark Ink

Hope you enjoy!

Paper Playtime Digi Monday - Summertime

Hello!
Welcome to our summer themed Digi Monday!  If you haven't stopped by Paper Playtime yet, be sure to jump over there, check out what the other designers have created, and be sure to link up your summer themed project for a chance to win a prize from one of our fantastic digi sponsors!!
I am featuring a digi from Pink Cat Studio this week!  This lil gal is just too cute with her water tube!!  I chose my patterned papers before colouring her, and tried to match my colours to those in the paper.  I really loved this method, as I am usually scrounging to figure out which colours I will use.  Hope you enjoy!

Make it Monday #23 - Creating Pockets with Edger Dies

Hello!

I am participating in this week's Make-it-Monday Challenge from Papertrey Ink!!  The challenge was to use edger dies to create pockets for use on a card or layout.  I actually don't own any of the edger dies yet (gasp!!)  however I made due with one of my border punches.  Dawn McVey was the challenge demo this week, and I seriously loved her layout and colour combination (she used a vibrant green, a more subdued green, and a beige print), that I simply HAD to be just like her and do something similar!  haha I used different colours, but a lot of scraplifting occurred (hehe).  You can see her original post on her blog, or by visiting the challenge link above.  Here is what I ended up with:

Cardstock: Aqua Mist, Hawaian Shores (Papertrey Ink)
Patterned Paper: 2009 Bitty Dots Basics (Papertrey Ink)
Stamps: Background Basics: Text Style, Embellishments (Papertrey Ink)
Ink: Pool Party (Stampin' Up!), Jet Black (StazOn)
Die Cuts: Bracket Edger Punch, Double Crochet Lace Edger Punch (EK Success), Beautiful Butterflies (Sizzix)
Other: Material (Hobby Lobby),  Machine Stitching,  Decorative Pin (handmade)

Hope you enjoy!

Summer Card Camp - Week 3

Hello!

The Summer Card Camp, hosted by Jennifer McGuire and Kristina Werner, is in it's third week, and this week's colour challenge is AWESOME!!!  Here is the combo:

I have to say, the cards I made for this challenge took SO MUCH brain power (hahaha).  I am really trying to break out of my standard mold and use some of the techniques and sketches I have seen.  It is exhausting.  Exhausting, but satisfying.  I definitely LOVE the cards I came up with.  They have the exact same basic design and embellishments, I just couldn't pick between the two background papers, so I made two!! (hehe)  Here is what I came up with:

The basic layout is from a sketch card in Cardmaps (by Scrapbook & Cards Today).

Card #1

Card #2

Make It Monday #22 - Multi-Colour Stamping with Ink Refills

Hello!

I am participating in the Papertrey Ink Make-it-Monday Challenge this week (today is the last day!!...eek).  The challenge is to create your own 'ink pad' of sorts using re-inkers to stamp a single image in multiple colours...a multi-coloured single image?  Something like that...hahaha.  Anywhoo, here is what I came up with.  I used two different images from the Papertrey Ink Round & Round Anniversary Set (so fun).  I really like how this technique works, however had difficulty with it simply because I don't have a lot of stamps to choose from that have a need for multiple colours!!  Most of the sets I have (and I have FAR too many) are either single image or multi-step stamping...perhaps I need to invest in this area?? :)

Here are my cards!

Cardstock: Dark Chocolate, Raspberry Fizz, Simply Chartreuse, Stampers Select White (Papertrey Ink), Crushed Curry (Stampin' Up!), Vellum (?)
Stamps: Round & Round, Background Basics Text Style (Papertrey Ink)
Ink: True Black, Raspberry Fizz, Simply Chartreuse, Dark Chocolate (Papertrey Ink), Crushed Curry (Stampin' Up!), Jet Black (Staz On)
Die Cuts: Mat Stack 1 (Papertrey Ink), 1 3/4" Circle Punch (Paper Shapers)
Other: iRock Gems (Imaginisce), White Satin Ribbon

Hope you enjoy!!
