YAY!

I soooo crafted! YAY! I made this cute little note cards for a gift set...no actual recipient is planned at the moment, hahah, but it felt great to craft!

Recipe: Cardstock (Papertrey Ink - Ripe Avocado, Stamper's Select White), Double-Sided Patterned Paper (Designer Paper by Chatterboxinc - Fabulous Vintage, Fabulous Petite Vintage), Yellow Ribbon (Joann's), Fiskar's Scallop Punch

Crafting Withdrawls??

OK, so I am in the process of moving back to my apartment in Toronto with my hubby. We both had the summer off, so we were back home visiting family and friends for a few months. I dragged allllll of my crafting supplies home with me, and back, and STILL don't have them unpacked! I need to scrap!!!! I am going to unload some things right now so I can do even a tiny project to make myself feel better!

Embossing Addiction

Liz posted her weekly sketch at Scrapbooing, Sketches, and Life...Oh My!, and I LOVED it...so I made an LO based on it! I recently purchased my first heat gun and embossing powder, and must now admit that I am ADDICTED!!! I embossed the whole background of this sketch with black and white embossing powder...and I sooooooooooo enjoy the outcome! Hope you like it! This layout is for my friends bachelorette, which was this past July. We had a super fun theme of black clothing and FUN SHOES!!! I love shoes (mine are the white and black zebra striped ones!)!

Cardstock - Black (Walmart), Rich Razzleberry (Stampin' Up!), Raspberry Fizz (Papertrey Ink), Black and White Embossing Powder (Joann's), Stampin' Around Wheel (Whimsy), VersaMark Ink Pad, Sparkly Silver Brads (Dollarama I think?), Silver Letters (from my stash...)

..changing it up...

Just to show the ladies tonight how changing a few simple things can change the look of the whole layout, I made a change-up! Here it is!

Because this is the before page to a previous post I made (...and seal it with a kiss), I had to use coordinating colours:
Recipe: Bazzill Cardstock (Dark Brown), Papertrey Ink Cardstock (Ripe Avocado), Imaginisce Patterned Paper (Fairest of Them All Collection - Enchanted Garden), October Afternoon Rub-On Alphabet, Papertrey Ink Swiss Dots Satin Ribbon (Spring Rain), Embossing Powder (Light Blue), Stampin' Around Jumbo Wheel (Whimsy), VersaMark Pad

First SU! Party

Tonight is my very first Stampin' Up! Party that I will be demonstrating. I am soooo super excited and a tad nervous as well! My cousin is hosting the party, and I already know several of the ladies attending, so it should go ok. We are making a 'Make-and-Take' layout that is based on the layout on page 16 of the new Stampin' Up! Idea Book and Catalogue. Here is a peak at what we are doing!

The LO is intended for two trimmed 5x7 photographs, and I think they are going to like it a lot! The two patterned pieces of paper are double sided, so they are free to choose which side they want to use as well.

Recipe: Cardstock (12 x 12 - Chocolate Chip, 8 ½ x 11 - Whisper White, Bermuda Bay, Crushed Curry), Patterned Paper (Thoroughly Modern Designer Series), Classic Stampin' Pad (Soft Suede, Bermuda Bay, Crushed Curry), Polka Dot Grosgrain Ribbon (Crushed Curry), Embossing Powder (White), Stampin' Around Jumbo Wheel (Whimsy), VersaMark Pad

Steps

1) Tear bottom of Whisper White cardstock in a diagonal direction, then attach Crushed Curry ribbon just above tear and tie into a bow and secure paper to Chocolate Chip cardstock.

2) Trim Bermuda Bay cardstock to 7 ¼ x 11, then secure over top of the Whisper White, to create a layered effect. Option - you could ink the edges of the whole piece, and then (for lack of a better word), ruffle the edges for a more edgy look.

3) Trim the three smaller pieces as follows: Polka Dot (2 ¼ x 2 ¾), Crushed Curry (3 x 2 ¾), Flowery (2 x 2 ¾).

4) Using a VersaMark pad, ink up your Whimsy Wheel, and then run it across the trimmed piece of Crushed Curry. You may have to go over it more than once to ensure full coverage. When finished, apply White Embossing powder, and heat set.

5) Using coordinating inks (the polka dot paper is Sahara Sand, but I made due with Soft Suede), ink the edges of the three trimmed pieces (wait until the head embossing is dry), and then 'ruffle' the edges (you can't really tell in the picture that I did this on the original). Then secure all three pieces in whichever order you choose on the Bermuda Bay cardstock. You can go to the far left, or far right edge, leaving approximately a 1/8th of an inch space around each piece.

6) Using the torn off piece of Whisper White, I made three 4 ¼ x ½ strips to use for journaling.

I REALLY like this adaptation, and hope you, (and the ladies who are coming tonight!), enjoy it! To order anything above just click the Stampin' Up! button at the top of my blog.

You're So Sweet!

I was in the mood to scrap tonight, and I have been itching to use some of the OH SO CUTE! cricut cuts that my new blogger friend Janis sent to me, (we made a little trade, some cricut cuts for some cuttlebug embossed papers-excellent trade!). She sent me SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO many great cuts, and there were just too many to choose from, but I LOVED this cute little strawberry. So I made this cute little card...no intended purpose, so someone might see this in their mailbox soon for no reason at all! Hope you like it! Be sure to check out Janis' blog from the link above! She has some fantastic things posted!

...and seal it with a kiss!

Ok, so it has been so, so, sooooooo toasty warm here (finally)! I have just not been in the mood to stay indoors, so my scraping has been minimal. But tonight it rained! So I did this quick layout based on a sketch by Liz from Scrapbooking, Sketches, and Life...Oh My!. Liz has a weekly sketch that she posts on her blog each Friday, (I just found them recently), and I LOVE having inspiration thrown at me...it makes things so easy sometimes! Check out her blog and I hope you like my take on it!

Robyn's Friday Challenge

Robyn at My Pink Stamper posted her final (I think?) challenge on Friday, and here is my submission for it! She asked that we try something new, and so I chose sewing onto my Layout. This is a layout I made for my friends baby book. There are spots for her to place a picture for every age up to Seventeen! I chose this year because that is the last year of highschool, so she will have a perfectly sized picture each year! Hope you enjoy!

I used random supplies I hadn't yet labelled for most of this, so here are the few I had labelled:
All Mixed Up Cricut Cartridge, Bazzil Basics 'In the Garden' Stencil, Just Cre8 'Float Like a Butterfly' Stamp Set.

Robyn's Thursday Challenge

OK, my friends are getting married tomorrow and I have been at the reception hall allllll day helping to decorate! I got home around 10:30 and IMMEDIATELY ran to my computer to see what Robyn had posted for her Thursday challenge! Thankfully for me, I could use her challenge to make my wedding card for tomorrow!!!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE embellishments...especially ribbons, flowers, and SPARKLES!! So I made this super cute, (wedding colour coordinated I might add!), card. I used the Plantin Schoolbook Cricut Cartridge to make the coordinating envelope!

The word 'LOVE' is in black sparkles, but they didn't show up very well in my photo...sorry! Hope you enjoy!

Recipe: Papertrey Ink Cardstock (Pure Black), Papertrey Ink Ribbon (Pure Black Swiss Dots Satin), Martha Stewart Playful Blue Paper Pad (Green Circles), Martha Stewart Sparkes (Onyx), Various Primas from my (large) collection, Silver Brad

Robyn's Wednesday Challenge

Today Robyn has her second Challenge posted at My Pink Stamper. We had to make a school themed project of any type. I chose to make note cards, and plan to give them to my aunt, who is a Principal! She loves handmade gifts, so I know she will totally love them! They turned out really well!

I am loving these challenges! They are getting me creating in a new way every day! This is the first time I tried colouring the stamps, then 'huffing' and stamping! It worked pretty well! Thanks Robyn!

Her first challenge of the week is for us to pull out something we haven't used in awhile! When I first started scrapbooking I was ADDICTED to alpha stickers, however since getting my Cricut Expression, they have been sitting in their drawer just waiting to be used.

So for my challenge project I made this cute little hello card! It is full of fun colours and ALPHA STICKERS ARE PRESENT!!! Hope you enjoy!
