PTI WCMD Challenge #1

HAPPY WORLD CARD MAKING DAY EVERYONE!!! I am sooooo excited to use this whole day for crafting FUN!
I am participating in the Papertrey Ink WCMD Challenges...they can be found on Nichole's blog and the first is super fun! (I am sure the rest are as well, I just haven't checked them out yet!!)

The first challenge was to inspire yourself with Japanese influences - colours, shapes, etc.

Here are the pictures I found on the net to help influence me:

And here is my card (and a bit to show how I made it)!

I started by dragging my Orange Zest ink pad over my paper to create a streaky background. I also lightly inked the edges of the Stampers Select White paper with the ink. I wanted to create a moon at the top of my page, so I cut out a circle in a scrap piece of paper using my 1 3/4 inch circle punch, and placed it over the paper.
I then dragged my Lemon Tart ink pad in various directions over the circle cutout, and followed up with some vintage cream to soften it a bit.
Here is what it looked like when that was finished.
Using the Flower Garden stamp set, I stamped leaves in Ripe Avocado, and flowers in Pure Poppy ink. I drew out a 'love' symbol (according to Internet sources...sorry if this is not really correct!), cropped it down, streaked the background and inked the edges with Orange Zest ink, and matted it on the page with foam dots. Finally, I matted the whole paper on a piece of Pure Poppy cardstock.
To complete the card, I added another piece of Stampers Select white inside to write a message, and stamped both this, and the envelope with a matching flower.
I so love how this turned out, and I hope you like it! All supplies are from Papertrey Ink.
Please leave a comment! I love to hear from you!

Lisa it did turn out great. I didn't color the center of my flower, I stamped it in black on red card stock and then cut it out and put it in the center of the white flower! I do love copics though, they are great!
