Hello!
Papertrey Ink is keeping the fun going over on Nichole's blog today. She has done a video demonstrating the Resist Emboss stamping technique, and has challenged us PTI lovers to give it a try! This was the first (and second) time I have done this technique. The reason it is my first and second all in one is because my first try didn't work so well. I used the large flourish from PTI's Fancy Flourishes, and Lemon Tart ink. I am not sure if this is simply a bad combo (thin stamp, light ink), if it was a problem with one or the other (thin stamp OR light ink), or if I simply didn't apply enough ink to the image!! Either way, attempt number two was MUCH better!
I made a book mark using my Tags, Bags, Boxes and More Cricut Cartridge to cut my base on Stamper's Select White (PTI), and shadow on Smokey Shadow (PTI). My background is stamped in Smokey Shadow ink using my Text Styles (PTI) background stamp. The main image is a combo of the large and a smaller leaf image from Turning a New Leaf (PTI) (how perfect of a name for a bookmark right?) stamped in Versa Mark ink, and embossed with clear embossing power from Stampin' Up!. And the blotting (for lack of a better word...sponging maybe?) was done using a sponge dauber (yes, sponging is the better word) and Spring Moss ink (PTI).
Here is a video showing how I put this together:
Hope you enjoy!

I love the text background and the colours you used! I do find this technique works best with a bigger, solid (silhouette-type) image.
That is so cool looking. :)
Very cute bookmark! I think I need that Cricut cartridge!
Thanks :). Tammy this cartridge is super fun!
