Big Idea Festival - Day 3

Hello!

For the next two weeks I am participating in the Big Picture Classes Big Idea Festival!! This is a free class with awesome inspiration offered each day by different people from the scrapping industry! So fun! Each day we are given a theme word to work with. Today's word was 'Less'. I chose to use the template they offered so I can have a consistent look with the mini book I will have created by the end of this week. Here is what I came up with.

Hope you enjoy!

Paper Playtime - Cool Off With Water

This week's challenge at Paper Playtime is to create a project with the theme 'Cool Off With Water'.  My favourite way to cool off with water is to go to the beach!  However I did a beach themed layout for the last challenge, so this week I chose to focus on my second favourite way to cool off - fun drinks!  These are not necessarily alcoholic drinks - my two favourites are just very simple additions of fruit to a beverage!. But if you are looking for some fun party drinks, I am sure adding a splash of vodka or some white wine to either would be delicious!! :)  I made a super cute recipe book using costars for the covers, and trimmed some white cardstock to size for the pages.  Each page is stamped with 'Ingredients' and 'Servings' on the front, and 'Instructions' on the back.  Hope you enjoy!  Be sure to head over to Paper Playtime to see what the other designers have come up with, as well as to submit your 'Water' themed project for a chance to win a prize from our sponsor, My Pink Stamper!!

I would love it if you would share your favourite drink recipes in the comments so that I can fill up my book (and begin tasting)!!  :)

Flaunt it Friday - Birthday Bash Bunny Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Flaunt it Friday Birthday Bash Bunny Blog Hop!! You should have arrived here from Sandra's Blog. If you are just happening upon this post randomly you can start at the beginning of the hop on the Flaunt it Friday Blog. The Flaunt it Friday Blog Hops feature a specific cut from a Cricut Cartridge of choice, and this week we are featuring the Bunny with Present from page 27 of the Birthday Bash Cartridge!!! . We also create a second project from the same cartridge, and I used the banner cut, numbers, and number shadows to make a SUPER SIMPLE mini album.   Stamps used are Papertrey Ink Birthday Bash and Birthday Bask Sentiments.

 BIRTHDAY BUNNY TAG

MINI ALBUM

The album pages have the birthday year on the front, and space on the back for journalling and a photo. OODLES of room for embellishment for any birthday boy or girl!  I used the banner cut for the pages, and stamped them with a Hero Arts background stamp (envelope liner).  The numbers and shadows are also stamped with a musical background stamp.

Be sure to leave a link to your project on the main challenge site for your chance to be entered in the draw for this month's grand prize.  Peachy Keen stamps is sponsoring the Grand Prize give away with a Wide Eyed and Bushy Tailed Assortment!!  Your next stop on the hop is Sheandra!

You Say It's Your Birthday Blog Hop!!

Please note, this is my second post for the day.  Scroll down to see my design team entry for the Paper Playtime theme of the week!

Hello and welcome to the You Say It's Your Birthday Blog Hop hosted by Erika from CricutLove.  You should have arrived here from Melissa's Blog.  If you are just stopping in here you can find the complete blog list below, or you can jump straight to Erika's Blog to start the hop!!

The theme for this blog hop is the Beatles and is celebrating Erika's daughter Ashley's birthday!!  We were to pick a song and base our project on that song in some way.  My project is based solely on the title of 'A Day in the Life' from the album Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band!  I worked backwards and found a title that would fit the project I wanted to make (hehe).  I made a daily journal/diary for Ashley which should arrive for her some time this week!!

To create this project I used a YourStory 5x7 album cover, and decorated it with various cricut cuts and some bling.  The pages are blank white (no lines).  This was the first time I used my YourStory and I have to say, I LOVE IT!  I picked it out for myself as a Christmas present from my hubby for a FANTASTIC deal from OhMyCrafts ($29 for a kit that included the YourStory machine, and AMAZING rotary trimmer, a variety of hard cover book covers, and a package of various laminating pouches...SUCH a good deal and when I checked this weekend it was on sale again!!).  Anywhoo...on to the project!!

Cardstock - Ripe Avocado, Simply Chartreuse, True Black, Raspberry Fizz, Stampers Select White (Papertrey Ink), Crushed Curry (Stampin' Up!), Pink Book Cover (Yourstory)
Die Cuts - Home Decor, Indie Art (Cricut)
Binding: YourStory Machine
Rhinestones (imaginisce iRock), White Gel Pen, Black Pen

Hope you enjoy!!  Please leave a comment, I love to hear from you!
