Layout - My Favourite Place

Hello!

I wanted to share a layout I completed a few days ago.  I am participating in Shimelle Laine's 'A Hitchhiker's Guide to Scrapbooking' class at Two Peas in a Bucket (so fun!).  Our first challenge was to put together a pile of supplies (starting with paper) with which to make a layout.  Take a picture of the supplies, and then take a picture of the final product!  I liked this because it took a lot of the thinking out of the actual putting together of the project.  Here is what I came up with.  Hope you enjoy!

Paper Playtime - Thank You Challenge

I have a super fun layout today that I absolutely LOVE!!  I had seen a layout done in a magazine that used different squares on the whole page to make up the layout, and I loved the idea, so I modified it to suit this page.  This is from our Thanksgiving last year.  We spent Thanksgiving with friends - none of us were able to make it home for the holiday, so we gathered together to celebrate!  I am so very thankful for these people in my life!  Hope you enjoy!

Patterned Paper: Grid Background (Basic Grey Basics), Wild Saffron (K&Co)
Rubons - Wild Saffron (K&Co)

Cardstock Flower Stickers - Wild Saffron (K&Co)

Alphabet Cardstock Stickers - unkown

Hope you have a great day!  Thanks for visiting.

Paper Playtime - Use a Clock, Ticket or Tag

Good Morning!

I have a submission for the Paper Playtime challenge this week.  The challenge is to use a Clock, Ticket, or Tag in your creation.  I used tags to make a Birthday Calendar mini book...and it looks like Queen Michelle and I had the same plan!!  Great minds think alike right?!  Hope you enjoy!

Happy Birthday to You!

Hello!

A quick happy birthday card today!  I love, love, LOVE how this card turned out.  My inspiration came from Tuesday Morning Sketches.  This is week 2 of their one year bloggy birthday celebrations!  I used sketch #43.  We were also asked, if we could, to use an image from Inktegrity, however my printer is on the fritz, so no image for me!  There are some super cute images available at Inktegrity...I am especially in love with some of the fairies, and a tree image.  You should definitely check them out!  Anywhoo, back to my card:

Cardstock: Simply Chartreuse (Papertrey Ink), Baja Breeze (Stampin' Up!)
Patterned Paper: Wild Saffron Paper Pack (K&Company)
Stamps: Baby Button Bits, Fillable Frames #3 (Papertrey Ink)
Ink: Dark Chocolate, Tea Dye Duo (Papertrey Ink)
Button, Twine (Papertrey Ink)
Pen: Espresso Stampin' Write Marker (Stampin' Up!)
Crystals (unknown)
White Gel Pen (Inkssentials)
Hope you enjoy!

Birthday Card

Hello,

Just a quick post today with a sweet little birthday card that I made recently.  Hope you like it!

1) Using Dark Chocolate cardstock (Papertrey Ink), trim card base to 4 1/4" x 8 1/2" and fold in half.
2 ) Trim a piece of yellow/brow/cream flower print paper (K&Company Wild Saffron paper pack) to 4 1/4" x 2 3/8" and adhere to card base.
3) Trim a piece of beige polka dotted paper (K&Company Wild Saffron paper pack) to 8" x 1/2".  Make three folds to create a ruffled ribbon effect near the right side of the card.  Adhere strip to card, and trim any excess from sides.
4) Create the birthday wishes scalloped circle:

  • Stamp text background using Crumb Cake Ink (Stampin' Up!) and Background Basics Text Style stamp set (Papertrey Ink).
  • Stamp polka dot background using Crushed Curry Ink (Stampin' Up!) and Background Basics Polka dot Basics stamp set (Papertrey Ink)
  • Stamp outline circle using Take Note stamp set (Papertrey Ink)
  • Stamp 'birthday wishes' sentiment using Mega Mixed Messages stamp set (Papertrey Ink)
  • Punch circle out using 1 3/4" circle punch.
  • Punch scalloped circle out of blue patterned paper (K&Company Wild Saffron paper pack) using 2" scalloped circle punch.
  • Adhere circle to scalloped circle.
  • Add pop dots to the back and adhere to card base.
  • Adhere crystal to below 'wishes' in sentiment.

Hope you have a great day!
