PTI Resist Emboss Challenge

Hello!

Papertrey Ink is keeping the fun going over on Nichole's blog today. She has done a video demonstrating the Resist Emboss stamping technique, and has challenged us PTI lovers to give it a try! This was the first (and second) time I have done this technique. The reason it is my first and second all in one is because my first try didn't work so well. I used the large flourish from PTI's Fancy Flourishes, and Lemon Tart ink. I am not sure if this is simply a bad combo (thin stamp, light ink), if it was a problem with one or the other (thin stamp OR light ink), or if I simply didn't apply enough ink to the image!! Either way, attempt number two was MUCH better!

I made a book mark using my Tags, Bags, Boxes and More Cricut Cartridge to cut my base on Stamper's Select White (PTI), and shadow on Smokey Shadow (PTI). My background is stamped in Smokey Shadow ink using my Text Styles (PTI) background stamp. The main image is a combo of the large and a smaller leaf image from Turning a New Leaf (PTI) (how perfect of a name for a bookmark right?) stamped in Versa Mark ink, and embossed with clear embossing power from Stampin' Up!. And the blotting (for lack of a better word...sponging maybe?) was done using a sponge dauber (yes, sponging is the better word) and Spring Moss ink (PTI).

Here is a video showing how I put this together:

Hope you enjoy!

PTI Happy Birthday Image Challenge

Hello!

Papertrey Ink will be celebrating their 3rd anniversary this month, and to celebrate, they are having a ton of fun over on Nichole Heady's blog! Today the 2010 stamp design team was announced, and a challenge was issued. Each designer posted an image on their blog. We had to select an image, print it out, and use it in a project. How fun!

Here is mine:

Here is the video showing how I put together this card (super simple!):

I used the Papertrey Ink Polka Dot Basics stamp set.

Hope you enjoy!

Hello

Hello! I am soooo glad it is Friday! Oddly enough this week has FLOWN by - this never happens to me...usually the 'flying by' is reserved for weekends...haha. I am out of town visiting some friends this weekend, so there will be no crafting for me! Hope everyone enjoys their weekends!

Becky Oehlers 'Compose a Card' Challenge #1

Hello!

Becky Oehlers over at Hemidemisemiquaver has decided to start doing a weekly challenge on her blog, and I have decided I am going to participate! She gives a set of parameters to follow as far as cuts and colours go, and then you are free to create at will!

Here is this weeks challenge:

I did a video showing how I put my card together:

And here is the finished product! I rarely use Melon Berry, so this was a nice challenge for me!

I used Papertrey Inks Background Basics: Text Style stamp set, and my Cricut Jubilee cartridge.

Hope you like it!

Paper Bag Mini Album - Update

Hello!

I posted a video awhile ago showing how I made my Paper Bag Mini album, and I said I would do another post when I actually finished the book.
WEEKS and WEEKS have passed, and I finally got around to doing some work on the album. I decided to use it as my 'Goals and Accomplishments' book for 2010, so it is actually STILL not completed, because I am leaving pages to actually do when I complete my goals! :) However I have done a few pages, so this is a little show and tell of those pages. As I complete more pages I will take pictures and post them!

Hope you enjoy!

Card - Baby On the Way

Hello! I have two videos today.

The first is of an image I colour with copics. I am a copic newbie so it really is a starting point for me with my shading skills and whatnot.

The second is of a card I made for a bloggy friend Janis, using the image I coloured.

Hope you enjoy them!

Unmounting Stamps

Hi! This is just a quick video showing how I unmount my stamps. I don't have a ton of room in my home (we live in a teeny 2 bedroom apartment), so unmounting my stamps is a definite space saver! If any of you do this and you do it differently, please share any tips you have with me!

Hope you are all enjoying your weekend!

Stampin' Up! Haul

Hello! I just got a huge package of Stampin' Up goodies and wanted to share them with you. I figured the best way to do this was in a video. Be sure to check out the new Occasions Mini catalogue and the Sale-a-Bration catalogue on the Stampin' Up! website. The deals are fantastic!

My Supply Guide

Hey guys! Just a quick video on a project I have been working on here and there. This is a book I put together that will eventually include all of my supplies for quick reference. It is quite useful and a super time saver. Not my original idea - got the idea from Carmen at the www.bringyourownmemories.com forum. Hope you like it!

Quick Hello!

Hello!!! I have been bad bad bad and have neglected my blogging for almost a whole month! I was home for the holidays visiting family, and have been trying to get organized since returning. Not an easy task! Haha...

Anyway, I have been playing with a few projects since returning, and promise to share them VERY soon! I am finally getting some work done on my paperbag album (check HERE for a video I did showing how to make them) - it is a 2010 them and I like how it is turning out so far! I think I am keeping it as a 2010 journal of sorts. More on that soon.

I am also starting to play with one of my VERY exciting Christmas gifts...my very own sewing machine! I used to play with my mom's when I was younger, making little purses and bags for myself and my sister, and a few for friends. I haven't really done major things with the machine, however now that I have my own I am looking forward to learning how to do more with it, and especially to use it on my papercrafting projects. VERY exciting! (Thanks Santa!) :)

Well, I do promise to blog more now that I am settled, and I hope to have some fun projects and videos to share with you very soon! Hope everyone is well!
