Album for Baby Maxx

Hello!

I just completed a mini album that I made for a friend to give as a gift.  Her friend recently had a baby boy, and she asked me if I could put something together for her.  I do not know the family at all (of the girl that had the baby), so I thought something basic would be perfect.  I found this ADORABLE patterned paper pack at Winners of all places, and thought it would be perfect for this project.  Hope you like it!  Please check back tomorrow for the second part of the gift - a mini brag book, with accompanying video showing how I put it together!

Please leave a comment.  I love to hear from you!

Video # 20 - Distressed Flowers

Hello!

I made a new video tutorial (FINALLY!) showing how I made some super cute distressed flowers to use on a few projects. These are so fun and easy to make and I think I am kind of addicted to them at the moment. After making them I put together a quick card, and super simple scrapbook page that is ready to go whenever I find the perfect pictures for it! Pictures of the projects are below the video.  They show just how quickly a simple project can go together, as well as how easy it is to use the same products for both scrapbooking and card manking.

Hope you like everything!

PDE Challenge #1 - Artists Trading Cards

Hello!

Today I am participating in my bloggy friend Janis's challenge that she has posted over on her blog Pause Dream Enjoy.  She is challenging us to create our own Artists Trading Cards (ATC), which are typically a  2 1/2 by 3 1/2 card which you decorate with your favourite techniques!

This is my first ever ATC, and it is quick and simple (just like most of my other papercrafting - haha).  It features a strawberry cricut cut (sent to me by none other than Janis herself!), with some supercute yellow flowered patterned paper, a bit of gingham riboon, and a simple sentiment...sweet (Papertrey Ink Cupcake Collection)!

This is a super fun and easy way to get out some of your creative juices when you don't have a whole lot of time...and an easy way to start using up some of those scraps we all know you are saving.

Hope you like it!

Please leave a comment, I love to hear from you!

Happy Mother's Day

Hello!

I just wanted to take a moment to wish a very Happy Mother's Day to all of the momma's out there!  I was fortunate enough to be able to spend time with my mom this weekend.  We live in different cities, and she came down to visit me for a few days (a bit backwards I think.  aren't I supposed to go visit her?!).  Haha.  Anyway, we had a great weekend together, shopping, eating, and watching movies - some of our favourite things to do together (she doesn't scrapbook OR card-make....GASP!)

I do hope all of you momma's are having an extra special day!

National Scrapbooking Day

Hello!

Happy National Scrapbooking Day everyone! I have been a VERY busy girl today!
I went to an all day crop at Stamping Bella, where worked very hard on not a whole lot of stuff. Mostly I just spent money on fantastic new products that I just, HAD TO HAVE! You know how it is.
I did get a few layouts done, and then came home to catch up on the Pink Stamper's NSD Challenges. I am far too tired to photograph and upload my creations tonight, so I will do that some time tomorrow, however I just wanted to wish everyone a great day (even thought it is almost over!).
I am looking forward to checking out everyone's blogs to see what they created today!
Hope everyone had fun!

Scrapfest

Hello!
I spent this past weekend in Kitchener, Ontario participating is SCRAPFEST! It was two full days of scrapbooking fun! I was not NEARLY as productive as I thought I would be, but I had a great time. On Friday I arrived later than the start - I had to work until about 2 and then drive about an hour to get to Kitchener, but I met my tablemates, and they were a HOOT! Some very fun ladies who I hopeto see at the next Scrapfest event in October. We scrapped on Friday until 12pm - which required uncalled for amounts of Peanut M&M's to be eaten (they were delicious)! Saturday started at 9am, and I had two classes this day.
The first was a 'Not Your Ordinary Paper Bag Album' class with Kelly Panaci. It was a good class, but I had a hard time focussing due to the earlyness of the day, the lateness of the previous night, and the lack of extra caffeine to get me going in the morning.
The second class was 'Technique Tags and Portfolio' (I think) with Vicki Boutin. I learned SO MUCH in this class, and promptly left the class at the end and headed straight to the marketplace to purchase some of the supplies we had used in that class (Ranger Distress Inks mostly).
Speaking of the Marketplace. DANGEROUS. I spent uknown amounts of money in that place. I don't want to calculate the actual total. It is too frightening. I bought a lot of fun kits for some no-thinking required scrapbooking...I am hoping this will help me get some of my overdue stuff done! And I bought paper. Ooodles of paper. I loooooooove paper. It makes me SO HAPPY! I also bought a LOT of thickers alpha sets. My table mates were in hysterics by the end of Friday evening becasue it seemed that every time I went over to the marketplace (which was often) I came back with some new alpha sets. They were very pretty. And hard to resist. :)
Here are a few of the layouts I worked on this weekend. The last one is not finished yet. I have several other half-finished projects as well, but will post those (and this last one probably) when they are done.
Hope all is well with everyone!

Simple Album

Hello!

Over the past few days I have put together a quick album for my husband's aunt. She recently became a new grandma! It is very simple, not a lot of frills at all. The album is 8x8 - this was my first 8x8 album, and I think I REALLY like this size! I normally do 12x12, but this was so quick and simple to put together. Here are the pages. I love a matted picture, so I have mats in place for all of the picutres, and have them labelled so she knows what size to crop her pictures to. Let me know what you think!  Cricut Cartridges Used: New Arrival, Pooh Font Set, and Sentimentals.
